Kyla attends St. Louis Park High School, in Grade 11. She contributed poetry, prose and photography in this year’s contest. She loves all types of photography and has taken classes at school. She is involved in ballet, yoga, and scuba diving.

Nestled between the rocks
The tentacles of the octopus reach out
Searching for prey
Gliding effortlessly forward
Over the coral reef
His iridescent body shimmers
In the darkness of the ocean
