Silence All Around - Lana Rubinstein
Sitting on the grass.
Feeling the stalks of green
Tickle my legs.
I feel free.
As free as the wind.
No one to say no,
Or to object to what I do.
I am alone,
Yet connected to nature.
Silence all around me,
Not even a bird cry.
Joyful at being myself.
I can do whatever,
And be whatever.
Alone in the grass.
Feel the warm breeze
Brush my hair.
I don’t move to push it back.
I let it sit there,
As a reminder of
The nature, and beauty.
A bird cry startles me
As he calls to darkening sky.
I don’t move,
I only listen.
Silence.
Breathing.
Wind through the trees.
All parts of nature.
Beautiful and majestic.
It belongs to me right now.
I appreciate the silence,
The grass that tickles my legs.
Silence all around.
